Introduction

Transport Stream (TS) is the container format that underpins modern streaming infrastructure. HLS, SRT, RTP, and broadcast systems all rely on TS to carry multiplexed audio and video reliably. It is also used directly for multicast distribution and HTTP-based streaming.

VASTreaming's TS library gives you complete control over the Transport Stream format—read, write, multiplex, demultiplex, and stream TS data across any transport layer.

Capabilities

Streaming:

• Send and receive multicast transport streams (UDP)
• TS over HTTP—client and server modes
• Decode TS payloads from other transports (e.g., RTP)

File operations:

• Read and write TS files
• Multiplex and demultiplex audio/video elementary streams
